The Energy Association of New York State (EA) is a non-profit trade association that represents the State's major energy corporations. The member companies of the EA are comprised of hundreds of thousands of shareholders including a great many individual New Yorkers and retirees. They currently: employ over 28,000 New Yorkers (a substantial portion of them union members); serve over 7 million New York customers and their families and businesses; annually pay over $2.5 billion in state and local taxes; and annually contribute tens of millions of dollars to community and charitable purposes.

These companies are charged with the obligation to meet the vital, pervasive public need of providing, on a 24/7/365 basis, the electric and natural gas commodities that have become indispensable to modern living. They do this so successfully that New York has come to take for granted levels of reliability unsurpassed anywhere in the world.

The EA member companies are more than great corporate citizens, they are part of the fabric of New York and are essential to the success and well-being of its people. We hope you will find this website useful in getting to know these companies better and in finding answers to questions about electricity and natural gas in New York State.
